We are developing a set of flexible house styles that reflect the changing needs of society, while minimising environmental impact. The house types are designed to be manufactured offsite and constructed in days. Site layout will be orientated for passive heat gain and shade, privacy and amenity. Simple massing and natural materials ensure a timeless and robust feel, perfect for rural sites. Integrated PV systems and ASHP’s generate renewable electricity. Rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling conserves water resources. Non load bearing partitions can be removed or re-positioned to reconfigure room size or layout. And, the houses are designed to be easily extended. This flexibility means a home office, workshop or annex for grown up children or elderly relatives can be easily added.
